The distribution of Blankets and clothing
Some men came with one blanket, others with shawls but the largest portion of the men had nothing but, the garments that covered them.

The Quartermaster was fortunate in finding a sufficient supply of blankets in St. Paul.

They were carried up to the fort and distributed in the afternoon by Mr. George Farrington, of the firm Culver & Farrington.

Eight hundred blankets, eight hundred shirts and eight hundred pairs of socks, were taken by the soldiers at once.

The blankets were red, white and blue, and some green.

of The Pioneer and Democrat

It state, that May 2nd was the first regimental parade.  Although not entirely armed or uniformed, the men made a very handsome appearance and were highly complimented by the officers.
