Johnathon Flinn

Born in Rosscomman County in Ireland, eight miles from Athone. He emigrated to Roxbury Massachusetts 1n 1836 at the age of twenty-three or twenty-four.

Died at age eighty-five in Cannon Falls Minnesota and is buried in the St. Pius Catholic Cemetery in a marked grave.

He married Margaret Curly at the age of twenty-nine in Boston

Massachusetts.

Margaret Cury was born in Rosscommon County Ireland on November 15, 1841.

Margaret died four days after Johnathon on April 4th,1898.

He left Massachusetts in 1858 to go west. Stopping in Kaukakee Illinois. Settled in Cannon Falls Township  on a farm in 1859.

Enlisted in Red Wing at the age of forty-eight. Served in the 1st Minnesota Regiment Volunteer Infantry in Company F. He was unwounded and honorably discharged. He may have had trouble with his site or went blind in the service.
